PRODUCTION OF VERSATILE LIQUID SOAP

Liquid soap, a widely utilized cleansing agent in Nigeria, is surely a familiar product to you. It has become the preferred choice for various household tasks such as washing clothes, kitchen utensils, toilets, mopping floors, and other household cleaning chores. Its use is also prevalent in car wash centers, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, cleaning outlets, and numerous other locations. Liquid soap not only makes washing more enjoyable, but it also has superior efficacy in penetrating fabrics and other surfaces compared to powder detergents. The versatility of liquid soap, coupled with its high demand, presents an exciting business opportunity for individuals who receive the appropriate training. With minimal capital, you can embark on a lucrative venture by supplying liquid soap in large quantities. Liquid soap is an everyday essential that is used all year round. As more Nigerians now rely on liquid soap for domestic purposes, the production of liquid detergent has become a rapidly growing enterprise that promises both short-term and long-term financial gains.

To produce 15 liters of high-quality liquid soap, follow the formula below meticulously and put it into practice.

1. Natrosol 62.5 kg

2. Caustic Soda 31.25 kg

3. Soda Ash ½ kg

4. Sulphonic 1/2 liter or 500ml

5. Texapon 1/2kg or 500g

6. SLS 200grams

7. Cooking Salt 250 grams

8. Perfume 40ml (use lemon for this production)

9. Colour 1 small wrap

PRODUCTION PROCESS OF LIQUID SOAP

STEP 1: Before starting the production soak 31.25kg of caustic soda into 1 liter of water for an hour.

STEP 2: At the same time, soak ½ kg of soda ash in 3 liters of water for an hour, just like you did with the caustic soda.

STEP 3: Also, soak the 200g of SLS in 2 liters of water for 1 hour just like in step 1 and 2.

One HOUR Later,

STEP 4: Take 62.5kg of Natrosol and gradually dissolve it in 8 liters of water while stirring continuously. (Don’t pour it into water at once) Stir the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 minutes. Pay close attention to  it, avoid leaving the Natrosol mixture to do another thing, as it may form lumps.

STEP 5: add the dissolved caustic soda into the Natrosol solution and stir well for 15 minutes.

STEP 6: Add the dissolved soda ash into the solution and continue stirring for another 15 minutes.

STEP 7: Add your texapon, approximately 1/2 kilogram, into the mixture and stir for a duration of 20 minutes.

Following that,

STEP 8: Include your previously dissolved SLS into the solution and stir thoroughly for 15 minutes to ensure proper blending.

STEP 9: Add approximately 1/2 liter of sulphonic acid into the mixture and stir diligently for 15 minutes. Once these steps are completed, allow your soap to settle and clear for a minimum of 2 hours before proceeding. During this time, expect a substantial amount of foam to form.

Moving on to STEP 10, dissolve 200 grams of cooking salt into ½ a liter of water and add it to your soap solution. Stir meticulously for at least 15 minutes. By this point, your soap should have a notably thick consistency.

STEP 11: dissolve your chosen color into a small quantity of water, like a tablespoon approximately, and add it into your soap. Stir thoroughly to ensure proper blending. Be cautious not to add an excessive amount of color. At this stage, you will have produced over 14 liters of soap. If you desire a slightly lighter soap, you can add approximately 1 liter of water and stir diligently to blend. If you decide to add more, you will end up with a diluted soap solution. However, it is advisable to wait at least six hours before making any additional additions.

STEP 12: Finally, it's time to add your fragrance into the soap you've created. Take 1 liter of your soap and add your lemon perfume to it. Stir vigorously before adding it to the rest of your soap mixture. Continue stirring for a duration of 10 minutes to ensure a thorough blend. Cover your soap and allow it to sit for a minimum of 6 hours if you're in a rush, or for a full 24 hours for optimal settling before packaging. After the designated time period, if you desire a thicker consistency for your soap, you can add the remaining 50 grams of salt from STEP 10. However, if you're satisfied with the current texture, you can leave it as is. If you have chosen to use lemon perfume, it is important to note that adding it directly to your production can result in a watery consistency. To avoid this, take a small amount of the perfume and follow the process outlined in Step 12. It's worth mentioning that many laundries prefer not to have colored liquid soap due to the large number of white clothes they wash. If you plan on supplying your soap to a laundry, it is best to inquire about their color preferences. In the event that they do not request any color, you can use a white colorant or leave the soap colorless.

To achieve optimal outcomes, it is advisable to create this soap during the evening and let it sit overnight. The following morning, you will be pleasantly surprised by the results. In the event that night-time production is not possible, allow your soap mixture to settle for a minimum of 6 hours for optimal effectiveness. If you have the luxury of time and do not urgently need to use the soap, it is recommended to let it settle for up to 24 hours. I am eager to hear your feedback once you have completed the production process. Remember, knowledge without application is futile!

IMPORTANT: Be Sure To Wear Protective Clothing In order to avoid any contact with harmful substance and chemicals, wear rubber gloves, goggles, and nose masks. Wear long shirts and trousers that will cover your hands and legs.
